Suicide, Does it Even Worth?

Lately, suicide has become trending topic in the worldwide. According to WHO, close to 800 000 people die due to suicide every year, which is one person every 40 seconds. It's a big number for a harmful action.

Suicide is a global phenomenon and occurs throughout the lifespan. Effective and evidence-based interventions can be implemented at population, sub-population and individual levels to prevent suicide and suicide attempts. There are indications that for each adult who died by suicide there may have been more than 20 others attempting suicide, and women are at higher risk than men.

Although suicide is a very harmful act, is it really worth to do? The answers of this question would be variable one another. If I am questioned with this, I probably would say yes, while when you are questioned, you might would say no. We're different one another, in any aspect. We can't judge people by what we see through them because we need to at least know them, talk to them, and understand them.

For people with a happy face, having so many friends, living a wealthy life, with no obstacles they ever face in their life, you might would think they won't go on suicide or even thinking that suicide is worthy. But who knows? Sometimes, the reality is unseen. They might looked cheerful every single day, but their souls might already broken.

No one could really predict whom would be in depression. Depression is unpredictable. You might just see it in television, in news or movies, but you never thought that your closest, your dearest one, is having that thought in his or her mind. You might play or having such a funny conversation with them today. But tomorrow, who knows? You couldn't guarantee that when you wake up tomorrow, you won't get a news of someone, your dearest one, dead of suicide. Once again, who knows?

I write this because I want people to start realize that suicide is not only the problem of the person doing it, but it's also a problem for people aorund him or her. We need to encourage people around us to see doctors, to seek for help whenever they feel sick, not only physically ill, but also mentally ill. They, somehow, feel like it's an issue to have a mental disorder, that they might would be seen as an abnormal, crazy person. This stigmas are still exist, you should know. You, the one who reading this, might still have this stigma. So please, I'm begging you, to you who reading this, cut this stigmas and start caring to people around you. You can start by asking your family, your friends, and your neighbors about how they're doing. As simple as that.

START CARING!!!
